Mrs. Holland's Latest Finds

I'm a fifth grade teacher in Wheaton, Illinois. This year, I am beginning my 27th year of teaching, the majority of which I have spent in the classroom. Throughout my career, I have also worked as a reading specialist, supporting struggling readers. 

 

My passion has always been reading, especially reading children's literature. As a teacher of reading, and intermediate students, I have always believed that reading children's literature is the one thing that every teacher of reading needs to do. It is important to be able to recommend books regularly if you are going to entice readers to explore the passion that you have about books. Students need to see you as a reader, trust you as a reader, and know that you know what they want to read. 

 

With this in mind, I have started this blog in order to help readers find books that they will fall in love with.
