Intermediate Book Recommendations
Here is a list of my favorite 10 books ever (in no particular order).
01
Harry Potter Series
If you know me, you know this is a no brainer.
02
Holes
Without a doubt, the best tied together children's book ever written.
03
Wonder
Everyone needs to read Wonder, no matter what the age, this is a must for every reading list.
04
Walk Two Moons
Perhaps Sharon Creech's best writing, this is a wonderful story worth reading over and over again.
05
The Ranger's Apprentice Series
I rarely read all of the books in a series, but this one like Harry Potter, i s well worth the time of going through all of the books. It is a well done series and I have never met a boy that hasn't fallen in love with the story line of Will Treaty.
06
Where the Red Fern Grows
A classic for sure, this story of determination of a boy and the love of his dogs is well written and has something for everyone.
07
Hattie Big Sky
Historical fiction is a genre I love, it doesn't matter what historical period it comes from, I love learning about history and society through this genre. Hattie Big Sky has so much to offer its readers. It is not only the historical perspective that it offers its readers, it is the heorine in the book. Hattie embodies the spirit of the westward expansion, and the message that even when you work hard, things don't go your way and that cannot be allowed to break you.
08
One Handed Catch
From start to finish, the main character in this book deals with loss and adversity. As a reader, you are brought into the story and immediately a supporter of the main character, suffering and enduring his new handicap.
09
Home of the Brave
As a teacher of many immigrant students, I am amazed at the social adjustment many have to make as they come to a country that is so different from their native one. Kek is an amazing character with hope and sunshine for everyone. This is written in prose, and well done.
10
The Shadow Club
Not a well known book, but an amazing story about how even the best of students can find themselves in a heap of trouble when they are not honest with one another or themselves.
